Jeremiah Chaney

Hello there! 👋 I’m Jeremiah, but most people call me “Jae.” I’m a Senior Product Designer at WeTransfer.

A bit about my journey: My path to design has been anything but ordinary. Growing up, I was always captivated by art, design, photography, architecture, and music. Right after high school, I bought a one-way ticket to southwest China with just enough money to last a couple of months. I immersed myself in Mandarin, taught ESL, biked through the Himalayan foothills, and before I knew it, three years had flown by.

When I returned to the U.S., I found myself in Austin, TX, the live music capital. I worked a variety of jobs—restaurants, hotels, playing drums, even painting houses—before finally deciding to take some art and design classes at the local community college. To my surprise, I rediscovered a passion for creating visuals that I hadn’t felt since I was a kid. This led me to pursue a degree in graphic and interactive design, though I eventually left school for a junior UI design opportunity at a small Austin design agency.

Fast forward to today, and I’ve been designing for over 10 years now. My journey has taken me through roles in marketing, branding, and service design, working on B2C, B2B, and enterprise software products. It’s been an incredible ride, and I’m grateful for every bit of it.

Outside of work, I’m a dog dad to Fiona, a rescue pup who’s brought so much joy into my life. I love being outdoors, soaking in the beauty of nature, but love music, attending concerts, cooking, and exploring New York City’s amazing restaurants with my wife.
